More about me:

Tell us about what you do at Giglets

I am the Regional Account Manager for Scotland and North England and the main focus of my role is supporting schools and local authorities, councils and MATs who would like to explore Giglets with a view to purchasing. A huge part of my day-to-day work also includes business development which requires a lot of strategic thinking as well as coming up with fresh and inventive ways to engage with new clients.

How did you find yourself working for an EdTech company?

I had recently left my job at the University of Glasgow and was looking for a real change of pace. By chance I came across a job advert for Giglets, I researched the company and jumped at the opportunity to become part of the team! Giglets is a fantastic resource and can make a huge contribution to the education and development of our young people.

What are you most proud of since joining Giglets?

There are so many things I have achieved since starting at Giglets in 2020 and SO much to be proud of! The highlight for me so far has been creating our “Giglets Goodies” boxes which have been a huge success for us, including helping us achieve our highest levels of engagement via social media to date! I was doing some research for lead generation when I came across multiple schools with Amazon wish lists on their websites. Having a young child myself, I couldn’t shake the fact that many school budgets don’t stretch to allow them to buy the simplest of things like rulers, pens, notebooks etc. I presented our CEO, Craig, with the idea of a box of classroom essentials which could be given out through giveaways and competitions. He really liked the idea as did the rest of our team so I put together a really fantastic box with some added extras for teachers and pupils to enjoy together. There are a few ways in which a class can get their hands on one and we always share details of this on our social media platforms. I loved seeing this idea come to life and am proud that the business has made a difference, no matter how small, to schools who need it!

If you weren’t at Giglets, what would you be doing?

I love to bake so in a perfect world I’d have my own business and be up to my elbows in flour and buttercream!

What 3 words would you use to describe working at Giglets?

Innovative, rewarding, stimulating
