Tell us about what you do at Giglets

I work as a Customer Success Lead, supporting our customers in their Giglets journey. I organise and run online and in-person training to help our fantastic teachers, and visit schools to see how our learners are improving. I love hearing from teachers about how they are using Giglets in their class. I am also very lucky as I get to support the content team with their Gaelic books.

How did you find yourself working for an EdTech company?

I have been an avid book lover from a very young age. Earlier in my career I taught phonics to children overseas and I began to understand that my own love for reading came from the influences that surrounded me. I went on to study English Literature at University and when I started teaching a few years later it was my favourite subject to teach. I was fortunate enough to teach through the medium of Gaelic, and found myself creating lots of resources for my class. As my digital skills improved, I realised how much I loved using technology to enhance my pupils learning. In my spare time I was also writing books for children. When the opportunity at Giglets came up, I knew it was the perfect fit and I am very grateful that I am in a job that encompasses all of the things I am passionate about.

What are you most proud of since joining Giglets?

I recently visited a school that won our World Book Day competition. It was really rewarding being able to go into a nurture classroom and support the students. Health and Wellbeing is something I have always been very committed to teaching, and it was great to see how the pupils were engaging with Giglets and using it as part of their wellbeing journey.

If you weren't at Giglets, what would you be doing?

I would be working in a classroom or writing books-maybe both-but I am happy to stay where I am!

What 3 words would you use to describe working at Giglets?

Exciting, innovative and collaborative .
