More about me:

Tell us about what you do at Giglets

I am the Education and Partnerships Lead at Giglets. I work mostly with schools in England, but across the UK as well. My day might involve speaking with researchers and partners; delivering training for school staff; or, meeting with school leaders and local authorities to help them get the most out of Giglets: it’s a varied and rewarding job and I enjoy working with so many stakeholders to support their ambitions!

How did you find yourself working for an EdTech company?

My first degree was in English Literature, and I have always loved reading. I have worked in education for nearly 15 years, teaching within widening access projects, SEN support bases, tuition centres, and, most recently, primary schools across England and South Wales. Working for a company that allows me to bring a love of books, passion for education and working with so many amazing schools was too good to pass up!

What are you most proud of since joining Giglets?

I am proud to be part of all Giglets does to engage children in stories and literacy. I love being able to facilitate our growing partnership events, but it's hard to pick one that I would be most proud of. Working with a range of thought-leaders, practitioners and creative thinkers is always rewarding, but it matters because it makes a difference in the classroom.

If you weren’t at Giglets, what would you be doing?

I would certainly still be teaching. I miss working with the children every day and all the joyfulness that brings, but, fortunately, we get to visit schools regularly and even get stuck into the lessons from time-to-time! (The children seem to listen more now I don't wear a lanyard...!)

What 3 words would you use to describe working at Giglets? .

Energising, enjoyable, and, enriching.
