Tell us about what you do at Giglets

I am the Content Lead at Giglets. This means I coordinate various different content projects, including liaising with translators, audio providers and freelance writers. I help to plan new content, and a big part of my role is to create new texts and tasks for the Giglets library. I also do a bit of translating from English to Gaelic.

How did you find yourself working for an EdTech company?

I’ve always had a love of books and my background is in libraries. I am a Gaelic learner, and saw that Giglets was looking for someone with Gaelic to work on the help desk (among other things!) and it just seemed like the perfect place for me to work.

What are you most proud of since joining Giglets?

There are a lot of things I’m proud of! I’ve been given the opportunity to do quite a lot of different things so it’s difficult to choose just one. I think I’d have to say I’m most proud of the content that I’ve helped to create. We’ve got a really great content team at Giglets and the process of writing something, getting feedback, making it better and then having our amazing artist illustrate it is great fun and also very satisfying.

If you weren’t at Giglets, what would you be doing?

I think I’d still be a librarian! I love libraries, I think they’re hugely important and everyone should use them.
