Giglets Events

This World Book Day, Giglets is delighted to be hosting not one, not two, but three storytelling events for schools across the country. There's something for everyone this World Book Day! More information and registration pages can be found below.

 

Going Camping (ages 3-6)

Our World Book Day festivities will kick off at 9.30 am with a storytelling event featuring Giglets original 'Going Camping'. This session will appeal to children aged 3-6 and tells the story of two children who venture on a camping trip, in a fun, rhyming text.

Top Dog and The Purrrrfect Pet! (ages 7-11)

At 11.15 am, our second storytelling event will feature two persuasive texts - 'Top Dog' and 'The Purrrrfect Pet!'. 'Top Dog' tries to convince the reader that dogs are better pets than cats, while 'The Purrrrfect Pet!' takes the opposite view that cats are indeed, the superior pet. This session will suit children aged 7-11.

The Fartomaniac (ages 7-11)

To conclude World Book Day 2024, the Giglets Team will host our final storytelling event at 2 pm, featuring 'The Fartomaniac'. This hilarious text is aimed at children aged 7-11 and as the title suggests, does contain illustrations of flatulence and very rude sound effects. As you can imagine, it is always popular with children (and some teachers!).
